School Improvement Plan

SMARTIE Goal #1 (MATH)

By May 2026, 90% of scholars will grow by one level on a school-based math assessment, as measured by the competency learning progression for calculation. 90% of ML and SPED scholars will grow by one level on the competency learning progression for calculation. 

SMARTIE Goal #2 (ELA)

By May 2026, 90% of scholars will grow by one level on a school-based writing assessment, as measured by the competency learning progression for written expression and language use. 90% of ML and SPED scholars will grow by one level on these same competencies 

SMARTIE Goal #3 (Whole Child)

By May 2026, we will increase scholar engagement in learning by 10% (for CA up from 26% to 36%, for OD up from 31% to 41%). We will have no disproportionality for ML and SPED scholars. 

SMARTIE Goal #4 (Persistence to graduation)

Increase our Career Academy graduation rate by 5% (up from 81% to 86%). At Open Doors, all scholars who do not meet the graduation requirements in June 2026, will remain enrolled for the following school year. We will have no disproportionality for ML and SPED scholars 
Aligned Signature Strategies
Develop and implement with fidelity a culturally responsive standards-aligned, guaranteed and viable curriculum, instruction, and assessment system in ALL core subjects in every school and every classroom.
Ensure systems for social-emotional support (Culturally Responsive PBIS, Second Step, SEL integrated throughout, Character Strong, Zones of Regulation, Kelso Choices) are implemented school-wide; all staff and students are taught, provided with frequent feedback to implement with fidelity.  
Design, implement, and monitor a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to adhere and respond to academic and social-emotional needs of students toward master of core subjects.
